Lives probably would have been spared. I was just trying to show that guns and other concealed weapons aren't anymore dangerous than other things that are around us everyday. We just don't really think about footballs or tall buildings as being used for harm.

Interesting that you choose not to argue that guns can be a tool for protection. I wonder: in some of the recent college campus shootings, if some of the law-abiding students had been carrying weapons, would lives have been spared?

Excellent job integrating info from sources. Also, you make good use of rhetorical questions (Don't forget to use a question mark.).

O okay I didn't realize we were supposed to label. My backing is "If you pass...yours goodbye" in the first paragraph. I would say the sentence before these two represents the warrant being backed up. It kind of brings together the students and people already in the workforce. Does this make since?

Okay--you've constructed a reasonable argument. You were supposed to label the parts in this exercise, according to Toulmin's theory, so that I can see if you're understanding and are able to apply his theory.

What is your backing?

Jenny...
1st off...Where did Obama go to a Muslim school, Hawaii, Indonesia, or New York...those are all the places he grew up in as a child. (barackobama.com) As for your comment about him not saying the pledge of allegiance, that is not true. You can read more about this on this website:

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/2007/11/obama_nabbed_by_the_patriotic.html

On the subject of him pledging an oath to Africa, if you have any reliable evidence to support this, then let me know.
